Patryk Ziobro uses a circuit-based approach combined with behavioral and molecular techniques to investigate the neural mechanisms underlying persistent motor recovery in Parkinson's Disease. He is interested in how specific neural populations within the basal ganglia circuit, and their downstream connections, contribute to long-lasting improvements in motor function. With these findings, Ziobro intends to identify the neuronal subtype that could serve as a target for developing novel therapeutic strategies for Parkinson's Disease.
