This new AAAL Symposium Series is focused on language assessment for the 21st Century, emphasizing the blend of theoretical frameworks and technology advances for digital environments, as described in the ecosystem of theoretical frameworks of Burstein et al. (2022). In this series, we explore and showcase research and innovation work in language science, applied linguistics, and language assessment that support all learners and test takers throughout their lifelong journey, from school, to college, and workforce.
