Modern Languages Student Organizations
We encourage our students to explore opportunities both inside and outside of the classroom to learn about other cultures, to engage in their language skills, and to exchange ideas with fellow students.
Students have the option to take part in the following organizations:
A group of Carnegie Mellon University students, faculty, and staff who collaborate together to design content and organize events not only for Modern Languages at CMU but for the greater Pittsburgh community.
An undergraduate journal of the Department of Modern Languages at Carnegie Mellon University. It is published once a semester. Polyglot publishes original research papers or reflections; works of literature, art, photography, or music; or original video or VR projects by Modern Languages students.
A prestigious international honor society that recognizes the accomplishments of outstanding students in academic fields related to foreign languages, literatures, and cultures. Each year, qualified graduate students and Modern Languages majors and minors in junior or senior standing are nominated to the society.
