My research roots in the Chilean revolution of 1969 and its aftermath. I examine the Complejo Forestal y Maderero Panguipulli, a worker-run forestry company that branched over 400,000 hectares of Andean rainforests, and sprouted the largest insurgency against the dictatorship of Augusto Pinochet. Panguipulli serves as a case study in how revolutionaries shape the environment as well as how the environment shapes revolution. Broadly, I am fascinated by the alternative ways in which humanity has structured itself and our environment.
