Taiwan's Ministry of Education Mandarin Enrichment Scholarship Program

The scholarship, funded by the Ministry of Education (MOE), Republic of China (Taiwan), is aimed at assisting promising foreign students to study in university-affiliated Chinese language centers in Taiwan.

Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship Program for U.S. Citizens

Since 1954, the Government of Japan’s Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT or Monbukagakusho) has provided scholarships each year to assist students interested in studying at Japanese universities.

Europe

American-Scandinavian Foundation (ASF)

Promotes international and cultural exchange between the United States and Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden.

DAAD

DAAD, German Academic Exchange Service, Grants are awards for undergraduate and graduate study in Germany. For assistance in applying please contact Therese Tardio.

The Gates Cambridge Scholarships

Scholarships for graduate study for American students at the University of Cambridge. Award covers full cost of study at Cambridge plus airfare to and from the U.K. Campus Deadline is in September and the application deadline is in October. The George J. Mitchell Scholarships

Seniors, alumni, and graduate students no older than 30 to study in Ireland or Northern Ireland. Award covers tuition, housing, a $12,000 living expenses stipend, and international travel. Foundation Deadline is in early October. To submit an application contact the Carnegie Mellon Fellowships & Scholarships Office.

German Chancellor Scholarship

This scholarship is for candidates holding a doctoral degree, who wish to do research in Germany for a year.

Winston Churchill Foundation Scholarships

For graduate work in engineering, mathematics and science at Churchill College, Cambridge University. Must be a U.S. citizen. Award covers all Cambridge University fees & tuition, plus a living allowance and travel expenses, with a total value between $48,000 and $50,000. Middle East

The Bnai Zion J. Philip Bromberg Israel Scientific Award

The Fund for Education Abroad Scholarships 

This scholarship will be awarded to U.S. citizens or permanent residents currently enrolled as an undergraduate at a college or university in the U.S. Study abroad programs must be at least 4 weeks (28 days) in length to receive an FEA scholarship.

Go! Overseas Scholarships

Go! Study Abroad Scholarships provide up to $1000 for students taking advantage of international education - through Study Abroad scholarships, Teach Abroad scholarships, and Volunteer Abroad scholarships. Application deadlines vary throughout the year, and the awards are based upon the applicant's creativity and analytical thinking regarding their study abroad experience.

Gilman International: A scholarship opportunity for students receiving a Pell Grant.
Fulbright: A prestigious national scholarship administered by Carnegie Mellon. (See section A for details.)

Rainbow Scholarship

Awards up to $10,000 for high-quality, rigorous education abroad programs. 

Rhodes Scholarship Program

Seniors and graduate students who are U.S. citizens to study at Oxford. Award covers all educational costs, tuition, fees, and travel. Campus Deadline is in early September, Foundation Deadline is October 1. To submit an application contact the Undergraduate Research Office.

Rotary Foundation Scholarships

The Rotary Foundation of Rotary International offers three types of study abroad scholarships for undergraduate and graduate students:  Academic-Year, Multi-Year and Cultural Scholarships (for three to six months). 

Volunteer Forever Scholarships

Volunteer Forever offers $500 to $1000 travel scholarships to help participants defray the cost of volunteering, studying, interning, teaching, or working abroad.
