ECE Dual Program

The following 28-month course plan is for students interested in our dual degree with the Master of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering program.

  • Students will spend 3 academic semesters (fall, spring, fall); plus summer semester in the MS degree in ECE at the Pittsburgh campus.
  • Students will spend 2 academic semesters (spring and fall); plus, a summer internship in the MSTV degree at the Silicon Valley campus

Curriculum Requirements

  • The MSTV curriculum requires students to complete a minimum of 147 units of coursework over four semesters and a summer: Fall, Spring, Summer Internship, Fall & Spring:
    • While in Pittsburgh, 48 units will double-count towards the MS in Engineering & MSTV degree requirements:
      • 12 units, 49-850, Grand Challenge Innovation
      • 36 units, Applied Engineering Courses (fall or spring terms)
    • While in Silicon Valley, 99 units will be completed during a summer internship as well as fall and spring academic semesters at the Mountain View, CA campus.
    • Total length of the dual program is 20 months for all degrees except for the Master of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering (28 months)
  • Students must have a minimum QPA of 3.0 to graduate.
