University Center Allocations Board (UCAB)
Note: The application process for the 2026–2028 Space Allocation cycle will open on January 13, 2026. Please review the information below for details on the application process for this allocation period.
OVERVIEW OF THE SPACE ALLOCATION PROCESS
The student organization space allocation process is a bi-annual process through which UCAB determines how campus storage and office spaces are assigned to recognized student organizations. This process is designed to promote the equitable, efficient, and responsible use of limited campus space.
The process is facilitated by the University Center Allocations Board (UCAB) and led by the Director of Organizations, Student Involvement & Traditions (SIT), and the Director of the University Center. The committee is composed of members from the Committee on Student Organizations (CoSO), including representatives from Student Senate, the Graduate Student Assembly, and additional representatives from the broader student organization community.
Only Student Government recognized organizations are eligible to apply for space. To be considered for the 2026 - 2028 allocation cycle, organizations must be fully recognized by December 15, 2025.
Available Space Options
Organizations may apply or re-apply for the following space options:
- Storage offices and cabinets located on the University Center 3rd Floor
- Storage spaces in the Stever House Basement
- Storage cages located in the East Campus Garage Basement
Preparing for the 2026–2028 Allocation Cycle
As the 2026–2028 Space Allocation Process approaches, organizations that currently hold space are strongly encouraged to use the fall semester to clean, organize, and reassess their existing offices and storage areas. Items that have not been used in several years or no longer serve a clear purpose should be discarded or donated when appropriate.
If you are unsure of how to dispose of an item, you may contact Stacie Gardner, Assistant Director of Student Involvement and Traditions, to receive guidance of what steps you can take. As an additional note, all food, cooking utensils, and other cooking supplies must be stored in closed bins.
