Watch Recorded Workshop: Communicating Data to Non-Experts

Let's say you have a dataset. Let's also say you've extracted some really good insights about that dataset, and want to communicate those insights to your audience. You have many choices: You could create a pie chart, a heatmap, or dozens of other types of graphs and figures. You also have to figure out your title, captions, and design elements. In short, there are many obstacles preventing you from getting the essential story to your audience.

Our handout seeks to help with this problem. Specifically, it teaches how to order information in a figure to communicate the main point, what kinds of visualizations are best suited for different purposes, and how to choose and emphasize your central story.
