I received my BA in English with a concentration in Literature and Cultural Studies and spent the last several years in 6-8 ELA education before coming to CMU. Currently, I am pursuing a MA in Rhetoric where I focus on feminist rhetoric, especially pertaining to violence against women and the Suffrage Movement. Having worked on curriculum design and cross-content writing rubric creation, I enjoy helping with thesis-driven writing and rubric-based projects across disciplines. As a first-generation college student and a professional educator trained specifically to work with students whose second language is English, I value working with students from rich cultural backgrounds and bringing their style, strengths, and experiences out in their work. When I am not working, I like to spend my time being creative by making things with my Cricut (mostly glitter tees), de-stressing by building Lego (mostly flowers that I can actually keep alive), and spending time with my mini Goldendoodle (named after Cordelia from Shakespere's King Lear)!
