Bio

Jamie has had the awesome opportunity to be a part of many teams across Carnegie Mellon since beginning her career here in 1999, including working with residence halls (now ResEd), student activities (now SLICE), community standards, student organization advising (and loves being part of GSA's advisory board each year), homecoming, graduate student support and initiatives, to name a few. She joined the Student Academic Success team during summer 2019, coming from the Center for Student Diversity & Inclusion having served as the Associate Director of Graduate Student Initiatives. Prior to Carnegie Mellon, Jamie worked in Student Affairs at University of the Pacific and Penn State University. She received her B.S. in accounting, her M.Ed. in Counseling, and her MBA, all from Penn State (She may or may not bleed blue & white!), and she doesn't think she is done going back to school yet!

In her spare time, Jamie enjoys playing BINGO, reading fiction and non-fiction, exploring the food and music scenes of Pittsburgh (even having lived here for much of her life), and loving on her rescue greyhound, Josie!

A surprising thing about me: I spent 8 months training to spend a week snow shoeing and survival camping in Northern Canada and would love to do it again

My favorite quote: "Always remember that you are absolutely unique. Just like everyone else." Margaret Mead

My favorite song: Into the Mystic, Van Morrison

My favorite place in Pittsburgh: Any of the city parks

I'm a fan of...: true crime stories, TV shows, movies
