Half Century Tartans embody the spirit of Carnegie Mellon.

If you earned a Carnegie Mellon undergraduate degree more than 50 years ago, you are a member of the Half Century Tartans, an honor earned by CMU's most engaged, philanthropic and accomplished alumni. You are the foundation of what our university has become today.

Alumni celebrating their 50th reunion are invited back to campus during Reunion Weekend at Spring Carnival to be inducted into the Half Century Tartans and receive their 50th Reunion Medallion. If you already celebrated your 50th Reunion at a past Reunion Weekend, you are automatically a member of the Half Century Tartans. All Half Century Tartans are invited to celebrate with the newest 50th Reunion inductees each year during Reunion Weekend.

This special group celebrates the Tartan spirit through special in-person, virtual and regional programming. 

We welcome you, our CMU graduates and esteemed alumni, to continue the Tartan legacy through the Half Century Tartans.

Resources

University Libraries: The University Libraries welcomes alumni and visitors to explore resources and collections, attend library-sponsored events and utilize select services.

Alumni Community: CMU is for life, and the online community is your hub to get the most out of your connection. Through this digital resource, you can: • Search the Alumni Directory to find old friends or meet fellow alumni in your area, industry or affiliation • Stay up to date on events • View Class Notes

CMU Alumni Email: CMU offers an @alumni.cmu.edu email address, powered by G-Suite, to all alumni. These accounts allow you to send and receive from a CMU email address, maintain your personal calendar, store contacts and keep messages with unlimited storage.

Insurance Discounts: CMU works with insurance providers to provide alumni with discounts on auto, home, health and life insurance.

Osher Lifelong Learning: The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute offers multiple learning options, from courses to special events, to adult learners age 50 and up. In the past, applicants would wait two to three years before being invited to join, but now OLLI offers immediate membership to the CMU community.

Apple Discount for Alumni: Alumni of Carnegie Mellon continue to get educational discounts on Apple products!
