Phi Beta Kappa Inducts Modern Languages Students from Class of 2023

Carnegie Mellon University’s chapter of Phi Beta Kappa (PBK) has inducted 54 students, 3 of whom are affiliated with the Department of Modern Languages in the Dietrich College of Humanities and Social Sciences.

The nation’s oldest honor society, PBK was founded in 1776 and advocates for the humanities and social sciences by expanding awareness about the importance of the liberal arts. The 293 chapters are housed at top universities across the country, and each invites a small number of exemplary students to join every year.

This year's inductees gathered on May 11, 2023, for the PBK initiation ceremony. The Department of Modern Languages inductees are:
