LGBTQIA+

College years are important for identity development and colleges often provide role models and community for LGBTQIA+ students. However, research has shown that LGBTQIA+ students still experience threats, violence and safety concerns while at university. CaPS recognizes and supports the intersecting identities of CMU students and works to promote and ensure a more socially just, inclusive and empowered community.

This curated list of resources provides education, advocacy, and support for LGBTQIA+ CMU students and allies organized into CMU-specific, Pittsburgh-area, and national organizations. In addition, these organizations and resources are inclusive of identities not always represented in LGBTQIA+ resources such as nonbinary, questioning, allies, and HIV+.
