Career Planning for Seniors
As we trust you know by now, Carnegie Mellon University’s Career and Professional Development Center (CPDC) provides a comprehensive range of services, programs and materials for students to utilize in connection with their career exploration, professional development and employment assistance. As students prepare to graduate, they are finalizing their plans for what comes next. The CPDC can help students with their job search, applying to graduate programs and taking a gap year.
- The CPDC assists seniors with identifying career interests, exploring options and expanding their network.
- The CPDC offers tips for applying to graduate or professional school.
- The CPDC offers tips for considering a gap year and one to two-year opportunities such as AmeriCorps and Teach for America.
As a parent or family member, you not only play a role in your own student’s career development, but you can get involved to help other Carnegie Mellon University students learn about your profession. Please consider volunteering through the Tartan Talks or Take a Tartan to Work program.
For more information, contact the CPDC.
The Career & Professional Development Center can assist your student in the job offer-evaluation process, and we want to prepare you with information to share with your student when they seek your input.
