Family Weekend brings together undergraduate and graduate students, families and friends for several days to experience the vibrancy of the Carnegie Mellon campus. Family Weekend will offer a robust schedule which includes academic programming, exhibits, student performances, building tours and other special events.

Residential Education Neighborhood Gatherings
Friday, 2-4 p.m.
Stop by our residential neighborhoods - Fifth Avenue, Margaret Morrison, and Morewood - for refreshments and an opportunity to write a "finals good luck" note to your student! The notes will be collected and distributed to your student by the House staff leading up to finals in December.
Meet the Faculty - Lecture Sessions
Friday, 2:30-3:30 p.m.
Curious about your student's classroom experience at Carnegie Mellon? Then come "back to school" and "meet the faculty" as they share insights and activities embedded in courses that they teach to many of our unergraduates, especially first-year students. No registration or tickets required. Lecture sessions:

- Introduction to Psychology
- Voting: An American Tradition
Family Weekend President’s Welcome Reception
Friday, 4-5:30 p.m.
Join President Farnam Jahanian and university leaders for the official welcome to Family Weekend 2022. Enjoy refreshments, meet other family members, and hear brief remarks from university leaders.
Meet the Colleges—Academic Sessions
Saturday, 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Family members and guests are invited to attend a session with academic leaders from their student's college or school to learn more about their student's academic experience. See the Family Weekend app for session details.
Chili Cook-Off
Saturday, 12-2 p.m.
Join the Activities Board for the 19th Annual Chili Cook-Off. Come taste and rank different types of chili prepared by Carnegie Mellon student orgniazations to crown one the Chili Champion.
Highmark Center for Health, Wellness, and Athletics Beam-Signing
Saturday, 2-4 p.m.
Family members will have the exciting opportunity to explore the designs and construction of our new Highmark Center for Health, Wellness, and Athletics buildling, including a beam-signing event where students and families can become part of the building's history.
The Festival on Scotty Saturday
Saturday, 3-6 p.m.
Scotty Saturday is a day where the CMU community comes together to celebrate their Carnegie Mellon pride through a series of events including a showcase of student talent, spirited activities, student groups, free food, and CMU swag! Wear your most spirited Carnegie Mellon gear on this day to show your school spirit!
