Bio

Sujata Telang is an Associate Teaching Professor at the INI. She teaches courses in software development and engineering, ethics and other related areas. She also leads the Practicum course and overall experience, cultivating sponsor relations and supervising projects. 

Sujata has been with CMU since 2004, starting her career at the SV campus. She came to CMU after a long experience in the software engineering domain in India and the U.S. She was primarily involved in real-time software development for automotive research and in custom knowledge-based software development for clients including (but not limited to) Reuters, Caterpillar, Diebold, Lucent Tech., U.S. West and U.S. Steel.

Sujata has previously taught at the CMU Institute for Software Research (ISR), where she instructed graduate courses in software engineering, mentored capstone teams and managed capstone projects. Her emphasis at CMU has risen through small-group pedagogy and project-centered curricula, bringing together mentoring, capstone and related experiences.

A Carnegie Mellon alumna, Sujata has completed both her Master of Software Engineering (MSE) and MBA at CMU; she is currently pursuing a PhD in Management from University of Leicester in the UK.
