Alumni Spotlight - Jason Wilkins (MIIPS '11)

“The MIIPS program at Carnegie Mellon was an ideal turning point in my design career. It allowed me to build on my existing engineering background and work experience, while providing me with a unique understanding of how an interdisciplinary team of designers can leverage the design process to create innovative solutions to a wide variety of problems. The real-world design challenges we worked together to solve exposed me to the entire design process, from early phase concept development through detailed engineering design. I was able to work closely with industrial designers, communication designers, business students, and other engineers every day - those skills have given me great confidence in my ability to contribute to a wide variety of projects in my current role at IDEO.”
