First-Year Family Orientation: Sunday, August 18, 2019
Family Orientation sessions are open to all new students and their families and do not require registration. You're encouraged to use this day to attend Orientation sessions, get settled on campus and complete necessary university business.
All students and family members are encouraged to attend the President's Welcome and individual college programs. Families of international students are encouraged to attend the international student and family welcome.
9:30 - 10:45 a.m. President's Welcome
11 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Academic Welcome sessions
Family orientation breakout sessions, open houses, and campus resource fair
Families depart by 5 p.m.
Floor meetings and residential neighborhood block parties for students
8 a.m.-3 p.m.
House Day: Get to know students in your residential community
Community Collage: Performances to showcase CMU's diversity of experience
Playfair: Group activities to get to know the whole first-year class
Making Your Mark: Learn about campus initiatives started by CMU students
