About the Block Center

Since our founding in 2019, the Block Center for Technology and Society has been dedicated to exploring the intersections of technological innovation, public policy, and society.

Housed at Carnegie Mellon University, the Block Center fosters interdisciplinary research that addresses the complex challenges posed by rapid technological advancements through our two focus areas: the future of work and the responsible use of artificial intelligence. The Block Center promotes a thoughtful and inclusive approach to technological innovation through our research and outreach. We are ultimately striving for a future where technology serves the common good.
