MSSM, 2027

This is how to say my name:

Why MSSM?

I’ve spent the past few years doing heavy coding as a Data Engineer at Baidu and Tencent. While I love the technical side, my long-term goal is to transition into a Technical Product Manager (TPM) role, especially in the AI/Agent sector. I chose MSSM because it’s the perfect launchpad to master product management, business metrics, and leadership skills without losing my technical edge.

Education

OSU, Computer Information Science

Experience

Tencent, Big-data development engineer

What career achievement are you most proud of?

At Tencent, I single-handedly designed, developed, and tested an end-to-end Flink real-time data processing system from scratch. The system successfully managed over 20 billion daily data records, ensuring low-latency data streaming across the company. Today, this infrastructure serves as the core foundation for multiple cross-functional downstream teams, powering crucial business units including algorithms, recommendation engines, and user growth. Taking full ownership of this high-concurrency project not only solidified my distributed systems engineering skills but also taught me how to scale infrastructure to meet massive business demands. It remains the most impactful milestone of my career, proving my ability to drive complex technical solutions from conception to production.

What type of role are you looking to obtain after you graduate?

After graduation, I'm looking to transition into a Technical Product Manager (TPM) or Product Manager (PM) role, specifically within the AI and enterprise software space. I want to leverage my background as a Big Data Engineer to bridge the gap between complex engineering teams and business strategies.
