Bio
Jorge Taborga is a distinguished leader in organizational transformation, digital innovation, and product development. His career spans high-tech, healthcare, and cloud services industries, where he has consistently driven strategies that foster growth, operational excellence, and groundbreaking innovations.
Most recently, Jorge served as Chief Transformation Officer at Medical Solutions, where he led a targeted digital transformation to improve customer, employee, and partner experiences. His initiatives leveraged advanced technologies, including machine learning and generative AI, to modernize processes, platforms, and operations.
Before that, Jorge spent 12 years at Omnicell, where he held multiple leadership roles, including Executive Vice President of Global Research & Development and Vice President of Manufacturing, Quality, and IT. At Omnicell, he oversaw the development of over 15 industry-leading products and cloud services for medication management, combining hardware, software, and robotics innovations. He led global teams across eight locations, drove significant operational efficiencies, integrated acquisitions, and championed sustainability efforts, earning industry recognition.
Earlier in his career, Jorge held senior leadership roles at companies such as Bay Networks (Nortel), Quantum, and fusionOne. He successfully implemented enterprise-wide systems, managed post-merger integrations, and delivered solutions that transformed operations and accelerated growth. Additionally, Jorge founded and operated Taborga Consulting, where he partnered with clients to reengineer business models, implement transformative systems, and improve organizational performance across industries.
In addition to his extensive corporate leadership, Jorge brings his industry expertise to Carnegie Mellon University, where he mentors and prepares the next generation of technology and business leaders. He holds a Ph.D. in Organizational Systems from Saybrook University and M.S. and B.S. degrees in Computer Science from Texas A&M University.
