The Women in Engineering conference is an the largest annual gathering of female engineers anywhere in the world. This year's theme - Breaking Boundaries - based on the concept that women engineers are break boundaries for themselves - as well as for other women globally.

Problem-Solving in Puerto Rico
In mid-May EPP Distinguished Service Professor Alex Hills traveled to Puerto Rico to investigate opportunities for Carnegie Mellon students to develop ways to avoid electric power problems like the ones caused by Hurricane Maria in 2017.
