Sarah Pidgeon
Embodying enigmatic and engaging characters
Actor
Sarah Pidgeon’s (CFA 2018) profile as an actor is growing across the stage and screen, with a Tony nomination and major leading roles in just the last five years.
“There’s a complexity that I want to bring to all characters that I play,” Sarah says. “They’ve had so many different colors to them, but they all share a strong sense of self with both nuance and intelligence.”
Most recently, Sarah stepped into Carolyn Bessette’s shoes to portray her romance with John F. Kennedy Jr. for FX/Hulu’s nine-episode drama series “Love Story.” A darker role, both in content and hair color, came as one of the teens contending with a killer on the loose in the 2025 horror reboot “I Know What You Did Last Summer.”
For her depiction of Diana, a singer-songwriter on the rise, in Broadway’s “Stereophonic,” Sarah earned the Tony nod for Best Featured Actress in a Play in 2024. Staged in a recording studio, the play tells the story of an up-and-coming band in the 1970s. Sarah and her castmates sing and play instruments while showing the messy dynamics of a band creating and clashing as they record an album.
“The script was unlike anything I'd read before, and I was so eager to see how to orchestrate it,” she says. “I loved Diana for being a young woman in a creative field and experiencing what her artistry means.”
Up next for Sarah is a lead role in Paul Schrader’s new film, “Non Compos Mentis.” It’s billed as an erotic thriller that co-stars Liam Hemsworth, Caleb Landry Jones and Dianne Wiest.
“It’s exciting to have scripts to be excited about, and people I’m excited to work with,” she says. “It feels so gracious to be leading a life of collaboration.”
