Join us for Carnegie Mellon's Spring Carnival 2019 from Thursday, April 11 through Saturday April 13 on the Pittsburgh campus. It’s a weekend filled with events for every graduate and Tartan family member.

CMU Alumni Association (CMUAA) Registration Tent

Thursday: 3:30-6 p.m.
Friday & Saturday: 9 a.m.-6 p.m.

Small Tent on The Cut — Look for the giant inflatable Scotty! [Rain location: Wean Commons, 1st Floor, CUC]

Large Tent, The Cut

Lots of fun activities for both kids and adults throughout the entire weekend, including a wellness tent with massages, photo booth, hands-on crafts, student demos and much more!

Grab a donut, fruit and beverage to enjoy while watching the races. Compliments of the CMU Alumni Association.

CMUAA KidZone Area at Buggy

Balloon artist, face painting, coloring, allergy-friendly snacks, prizes and more — plus kids 12 and under can build and race their own LEGO® buggy on our custom-built track.

CMU Alumni Association Presents: S.C.H.E.M.E. Escape Room

Friday & Saturday: 10 a.m.-6 p.m.

Class of 1987 Room, 2nd floor, CUC

The S.C.H.E.M.E (Society of Chaotic Henchpeople Eagerly Making Evil) is about to unleash their next plot, but we don't yet know what they will try or where it will be. We need your help to infiltrate their headquarters, crack their codes, and put a stop to their dastardly plot before they unleash chaos on the world. Are you up to the challenge? Created by Julian Goldman (A 2019) and Paula Halpern (A 2018). Registration available in March.

CMU Summit

Thursday: 10 a.m.-6 p.m., Simmons Auditorium, Tepper Quad
Friday: 10 a.m.-6 p.m., Swartz Center, Tepper Quad

This two-day forum gathers leading entrepreneurs, venture capitalists and scholars from the United States and China to address real-world challenges and opportunities in various technology and business fields. Register and learn more about the CMU Summit and the CMU US-China Innovation and Entrepreneurship Association.

Spring Carnival Committee Midway Hours

Booth and Carnival ride hours:

Midway, The Cut

Tickets can be purchased on Midway during Carnival or at the CUC Info Desk prior to Carnival. The cost varies per ride but most rides are between $.50 and $2. 

CMU Alumni Association All-Campus Lunch

Friday: Noon-2 p.m.

Merson Courtyard, behind the CUC [Rain location: CUC Loggia]

Join the CMU Alumni Association as we celebrate campus sustainability at a complimentary lunch open to the entire CMU community. REUNION CELEBRANTS: Fast pass line access and reserved seating are available with your Reunion button (available at the Registration Tent). Registration Requested/No Event Fee.

Scotch'n'Soda Theatre Carnival Show: Mamma Mia!

Join the NROTC cadets for this reflective ceremony.

OM Holi 2019

Saturday: Noon-3 p.m.

The Mall

Join more than a thousand people on The Mall during Carnival for the color party of a lifetime! Come celebrate Holi, the Festival of Colors, with CMU OM! Enjoy an afternoon of food, music, performances and color throwing with your friends. Proceeds from the event go to EkalVidyalaya, a nonprofit organization building schools and other developments in rural India.

Persuasion Installation

Thursday-Saturday: 11 a.m.-6 p.m.

Understanding what persuades you and others — how we are influenced by other people, by media, by our environment, by design — is a crucial reflective skill to develop in better understanding yourself, those around you and, more widely, society. This exhibition seeks to explore different aspects of persuasion in our daily lives. Learn more.
