Fellow alumni recognize Shirley Elizabeth Herman Townsend as the "glue" that has held the Rochester, New York, Carnegie Clan together for more than 40 years. She has held every position on her local alumni association's board and currently serves as treasurer. Shirley has been instrumental in working with younger alumni, preserving annual traditions, and initiating new events.
