Bio

Susanne Slavick is an artist, curator and the Andrew W. Mellon Professor of Art at Carnegie Mellon University where she served as Head of the School of Art from 2000 to 2006. Her work has been recognized through fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts and four awards from the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts.

Her work has been recognized through fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts and four awards from the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts. She has published articles in: Cairo: Images of Transition (transcript Verlag 2013); Cultural Heritage and Arts Review; Cultural Politics; Frontiers: A Journal of Women’s Studies; Guernica: A Magazine of Art & Politics; and AlterNet.
