2020 Alumni Service Award
For more than three decades, Don Michel has embodied the Tartan spirit with his dedication to CMU Athletics. A former student-athlete on the golf team, Don was a leader in the founding of the Tartan Athletics Club, an organization that has energized the relationship between Tartan athletics alumni, university leadership, and current student athletes. He also was integral to the creation of the Tartan Athletics Hall of Fame and a mentoring program that pairs athletes and alumni.
His advocacy has helped to increase philanthropic support for CMU athletic programs. Don is the director of sales enablement and analytics at Westinghouse Electric Company, where he oversees all commercial data for use in operations and strategic planning.
