Connecting & Growing

Tartan Circles bring together alumni to share experiences and insights to tackle professional and personal challenges

Can 30 minutes a week really change your life and career?

Carnegie Mellon University alumni who have participated in the Tartan Circles program know it can.

Tartan Circles bring alumni together in small groups virtually via Zoom for nine weeks. Each week, the meetings focus on a different participant to help each alumnus or alumna receive unbiased and candid advice on career and professional development challenges they are facing specific to their Circle’s theme. This year, Circle focuses include how to have crucial conversations in the workplace, cutting-edge technology’s effects on industries and connecting with fellow small business owners.

The application window for Fall 2020 Tartan Circles is open now. Apply today as seats are extremely limited!

"Not only is the program highly informative, but the peer experiences make the information real and memorable."
"Without a doubt, one of the most positive experiences of my life. Calling it merely a ‘networking’ opportunity does it a disservice. I feel as though I've found new friends."
"My Tartan Circle created an opportunity for each participant to think harder for our goals and subsequently be pushed to action (even just tiny steps at a time). I felt that my Tartan Circle helped me to become a better, more focused self."

"The camaraderie, the empathy, the kindness and the friendship were the same in both of my Circles. I really think having that range of career professionalism, career arcs and ages lent itself to a wide variety of (beneficial) conversations."

Registration will close on September 13 at 11:59 p.m. (ET). Apply now
