Halal Meals Available During Ramadan
By Muslim Student Association
As the campus community prepares for Ramadan, Scotty’s Market is expanding its offerings to support students observing the holy month. Beginning Tuesday, February 17, through Thursday, March 19, Scotty’s will serve daily Iftar meals. The menu features rotating hot entrees, including Halal chicken, beef, and lamb, as well as various vegetarian options.
Along with the Iftar meals, Scotty's Market has a diverse menu of Heat-and-Eat specials located in the fresh produce case at the front of the store. You'll find grab-and-go meals, sides, and desserts, which are perfect for late-night dining or early-morning meals. Check out our new Suhoor meal options on the Grubhub campus, which can be ordered after 10:30 am. Iftar and Suhoor meals can be purchased using meal blocks, FLEX, DineXtra, debit/credit, or cash.
The Muslim Student Association (MSA) will be hosting free iftars on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the University Center, with halaqas once a week (45 minutes before iftar)—this excludes the week of spring break. For more information, subscribe to the MSA calendar. On a daily basis, students can gather in Scotty's Market to break their fast together.
For questions about MSA events, please email MSA President Mohid Rattu mrattu@andrew.cmu.edu, or Vice President Ridah Mahjabeen rmahjabe@andrew.cmu.edu.
Certified-Halal meal options are available at several campus dining locations.
