We celebrate plant power!
Are you vegetarian or vegan? You won't want for food options at Carnegie Mellon. We have an assortment of delicious meals for plant-forward eaters at most dining locations, with special options at Nourish.
We care about the environment.
We're making strides to create a more sustainable dining program with tray-less dining, partnerships with local farms and 412 Food Rescue, zero-waste catering, and more. Join Dining Services in our sustainability efforts by participating in the new ScottySIPS reusable coffee mug program!
Food allergies? No problem!
Nourish is an allergen-friendly kitchen that features a menu prepared without gluten, wheat, milk, egg, soy, fish, shellfish, peanuts, and most tree nuts (except coconut). In addition to offering a diverse and delicious menu designed with everyone in mind, Nourish serves a number of vegan options. Grab-and-go items are available at the following locations: Entropy+, Rothberg's Roasters at Maggie Murph Café, Rothberg’s Roasters II at the Ruge Atrium, Carnegie Mellon Café, and Heinz Café.
We have Pittsburgh's best coffee on campus!
The only certified organic roaster in Pittsburgh, La Prima Espresso Company offers free trade espresso, cappuccino, and coffee, as well as Italian pastries and sandwiches.
At CMU, we celebrate diversity.
If you have religious dietary needs, we've got you covered. The Tartan Express Food Truck featuring Tahini offers meals certified Orthodox Kosher under the Vaad of Pittsburgh, and you can pick up grab-and-go kosher items at Entropy+. You can also find halal-friendly fare at Entropy+.
We're constantly improving.
Carnegie Mellon's Dining Services is always looking for opportunities to improve our menus and our spaces to ensure that students, faculty, and staff have the best possible experience at our dining locations.
Most recently, we've embarked on two big projects: The Underground (UG) received a much-needed facelift with major renovations to the space and a menu that features scratch-made American favorites and locally-sourced ingredients, and La Prima Espresso, a campus and Pittsburgh favorite, located on the fifth floor of Wean Hall, was renovated last year.
