Felipe Gómez Co-Edits Book on Colombian Writer Evelio Rosero

Felipe Gómez and Maria del Carmen Saldarriaga have co-edited a book on the celebrated Colombian writer Evelio Rosero. Called “Evelio Rosero y los ciclos de la creacion literaria” (“Evelio Rosero and the Cycles of Literary Creation”), the Spanish-language volume consists of essays that focus on the points of contact between Rosero’s work and the themes of cultural representation, subjectivity and power struggles. Rosero’s oeuvre includes short stories, poetry and more than ten novels translated into numerous languages.

Felipe Gómez is an associate teaching professor of Hispanic Studies in the Department of Modern Languages at Carnegie Mellon. Maria del Carmen Saldarriaga earned her Ph.D. from the University of Pittsburgh and has taught courses for the Spanish program at the University of Memphis in Tennessee.
