Bianca Brown
Bio
While at Williams College I studied Mandarin Chinese and then immersed myself in Turkish when I moved to Muğla on a Fulbright grant. I formalized my “street” Turkish during my master’s degree, also taking Uzbek and Azerbaijani classes, and then moved to Milan where Italian became my world language focus.
Language study has consistently formed the backbone of the communities that have influenced me the most. Past topics of interest include how language culturalization affects international student experiences, and how language learners negotiate intercultural competencies.
