Co-Sponsorships
Co-Sponsorship Request Guidelines
The Humanities Center welcomes requests from faculty, working groups, centers, initiatives and humanities-related graduate student groups seeking co-sponsorship for events and initiatives that align with our mission to bring together faculty and graduate students in humanities departments (English, History, Languages, Cultures and Applied Linguistics, and Philosophy) and from the arts, social sciences, and sciences who engage in studying the human experience, human condition, and human-centered responses to real-world challenges.
To facilitate careful planning and provide effective support, all requests must be submitted through the Humanities Center Co-Sponsorship Request Form.
Timeline
- Requests must be submitted at least 8 weeks prior to the event date. Limited exceptions will be made on a case-by-case basis for late applications.
- Applications will be reviewed on a rolling bi-weekly basis.
Eligibility
- Requests must come from faculty, reading/working groups, centers, initiatives and humanities-related graduate student groups.
- Events should be open to the campus community and clearly engage with humanities scholarship, research, or public discourse.
Co-Sponsorship Amount
Our co-sponsorship funds are limited, so we prioritize modest requests between $100 and $1,000 to allow us to support a variety of events throughout the year. The average co-sponsorship is $500.
Due to limited funding, we are unlikely to approve multiple requests from the same individual or group.
In addition to financial support, co-sponsored events will also be promoted at no cost through the Center's communication channels.
