Conference & Event Services is a proud student employer with various opportunities available. All positions offer real-life experience to students interested in strengthening their skills in customer service, event & project management, and hospitality. We provide flexible scheduling, professional development opportunities and a fun work environment. On-campus housing is provided for our Summer Program Assistants during the summer season.

Employment Period: Fall & Spring Semester

The incumbents will be responsible for assisting the Conference & Event Services (CES) professional staff with confirming event logistics and set-ups for Employer Information Sessions and other events coordinated by CES. The liaison role is critical to the success of the information sessions/events and delivering a high level of customer service reflecting positively on the university and the CES department. Duties will include, but not limited to; delivery of packages to the event spaces/classrooms where the sessions/events are held, confirming spaces are unlocked and are orderly, verifying the set-ups for catering & media technology and providing wireless guest account information. The CES liaison will interact with the recruiters conducting the information sessions/events if questions arise. In addition, troubleshooting items that need to be addressed in order for the event to be successful. Candidates must be punctual, work well with others, have excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills, present self in a professional manner, and handle multiple assignments at any given time. The ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative is critical to the CES operation.

Employment Period: Summer

The department of Conference & Event Services (CES) is seeking qualified students to assist the professional staff in the daily operations for summer camps and conferences. We provide students an opportunity to enhance their academic learning experience in a work environment by learning the operational aspects of our department while broadening communication, social, listening and writing skills. The Summer Program Assistants (SPAs) will deliver superior customer service to our clients and guests by providing assistance with logistical, planning, operational and check-in services. In addition, the SPAs will be placed on a mandatory rotating on-call schedule (including weekends) to support the 24-hour daily operation of the Conference & Event Services Summer Housing Guest Services Office. SPAs are required to live in Stever House as a condition of employment to support the on-call duties; therefore, CES will provide your campus housing at no cost.
