Learnvia(opens in new window) enhances classroom instruction by unifying what’s often scattered across textbooks, homework systems and online tools. In one platform, faculty and students access interactive lessons, videos, practice, assessments, discussions and AI-tutor tools designed to advance conceptual learning and procedural fluency in mathematics.

Learnvia courseware is developed by educators for educators, integrating the latest learning science with real classroom practice. Every element — chunked lessons, scaffolded assignments, interactive practice, and aligned assessments — is custom-built, research-focused, and community-driven, with dedicated in-house support and a faculty-to-faculty design ethos.

“This is a rare opportunity to scale a CMU approach that’s both rigorous and practical,” said Marsha Lovett(opens in new window), vice provost for teaching and learning innovation at Carnegie Mellon University and a member of Learnvia’s board. “Learnvia reflects a deliberate, research-driven model of learning engineering that emphasizes continuous improvement and close collaboration with educators. It’s an effective approach that’s integrated into Learnvia’s products and that is reinforced by the close collaboration with CMU — in learning science research, in instruction and in AI innovations.” 

Lovett, whose portfolio incorporates educational technology, teaching excellence and instructional affordances of AI, is excited by the collaboration. “It’s a very deliberate and intentional vision for innovation. Through this effort we will see a variety of research cycles from the collaboration, from targeted, data-informed courseware improvements to broader insights into human learning.
