A karate world championship is won in two minutes. But those two minutes are built on thousands of hours of discipline and the ability to read, judge, and strike in a split second. Quantitative finance rewards the exact same qualities. I placed second at the world championships, and this tells you more about how I approach this field than any resume line ever could. My research took thousands of hours. A stochastic calculus course at Keio University pulled me into mathematical finance, where I explored option-pricing theory across various models. That curiosity led to independent research on modeling employee stock options with IPO-contingent vesting, which I presented as first author at three academic conferences. Five years of shipping code at a B2B SaaS startup wired me to move fast. In my final two years, I built analytical features end to end, assessing client needs on the fly and delivering under real deadlines. At Carnegie Mellon's MSCF program, I am sharpening that combination with a focus on derivatives, where both modeling depth and execution speed matter. Whether the work lives on the research side or the trading desk, I bring both. Let's connect and explore how I can add value to your team.
