Markets rarely provide clean answers, which is exactly what draws me to quantitative finance. Studying Mathematics and Economics at Claremont McKenna taught me how to turn ambiguous financial questions into structured, testable problems. I was first introduced to portfolio management through my undergraduate student investment fund, ultimately serving as Chief Investment Officer and overseeing a $3.5 million sleeve of endowment capital. That experience exposed me to challenging questions involving capital allocation across strategies and downside-risk management. During my internship at Hawk Ridge Capital Management, I learned how rigorous statistical analysis could sharpen fundamental research and create differentiated investment insights. I analyzed credit-card transactions, foot-traffic patterns, and web-scraped data to evaluate company performance, test management narratives, and refine quarterly earnings forecasts. I built on that experience as a Summer Associate at Citadel, where I navigated a fast-paced investment environment, evaluated rapidly evolving market dynamics, and leveraged new datasets to identify differentiated signals. By combining quantitative analysis with investment research, I developed an original idea that was approved for capital deployment. I look forward to deepening these skills through the MSCF program and pursuing a career in quantitative finance. Outside of work and study, I enjoy reading science-fiction novels, predicting the Oscars, and playing board games with friends.
