Bio

Lauren Schachar is Assistant Dean of Student Affairs at Carnegie Mellon University’s Silicon Valley campus where she oversees career and professional development, communication and language services, and employer relations. Whether she's meeting with technical recruiters and hiring managers to discuss recruitment strategies or coaching students on their career development, Lauren is passionate about connecting academia and industry and loves being able to do so in the hub of innovation and technology.

Prior to joining CMU, Lauren spent several years working as a career consultant at the University of Michigan where she was also recruited to develop and teach an undergraduate career development course to over 200 students. Lauren continues to teach at CMU and stays in touch with many former students.
