MS in Artificial Intelligence Engineering in EST&P

By Alyssa Bernens

We are excited to announce our new MS in Artificial Intelligence Engineering in EST&P (MSAIE-EST&P) Degree! AI and Machine Learning are increasingly being applied in all energy fields, in the way of smart grids and smart buildings, demand response, power plant operation and maintenance, etc. Because of this, there is an increased demand from students and employers for knowledge and skill in AI/ML integrated with energy domain knowledge.
The new MSAIE-EST&P degree program will pair the EST&P curriculum with the fundamentals of AI methods, Machine Learning and Deep Learning, and the evolving challenges of trustworthiness and ethics. The EST&P degree program focuses on understanding the interdisciplinary challenges of energy and informing students on the broad issues of energy supply, demand, storage, utilization, policy, economics, sustainability and the environment that pair well with this AI foundation.
We are also excited to have introduced the Data Science concentration to our current EST&P programs! The Data Science concentration covers content like the AI degree program and is accessible to students in the Advanced Study and Applied Advanced Study degree programs. The MSAIE-EST&P degree program (as well as our original four-degree programs) will be live on our Fall 2025 application, which will open on October 1st, 2024. Please keep an eye on our website as we continue to update it with new information pertaining to the MSAIE-EST&P degree!
