2026 Alumni Service Award
Interdisciplinary entrepreneur Alex DiClaudio has spent more than a decade serving Carnegie Mellon as an involved alumni leader who has worked to strengthen connections between alumni and the university and current students.
He served on the Alumni Association Board for 11 years — 10 as a committee chair and member of the executive committee and six as an officer. Alex also served as president of the CMU Alumni Association and ex officio Trustee from 2018 to 2020. He has contributed his expertise to the Tepper School of Business Undergraduate Alumni Task Force, serving as co-chair, and the Fence Working Group. He currently serves on the Dietrich College Dean’s Advisory Board.
A dedicated supporter of CMU students, Alex has participated in every one of Dietrich College’s Under Construction events, where he shared professional insight and advice with students. He also spent five years serving as an alumni board member for Tepper’s Management Game — a capstone course for undergraduate business students — where he worked with fellow alumni to mentor and advise small groups of students throughout the capstone experience. In addition to his service at the college level, he is a mentor for CMUniverse, the university’s virtual mentoring platform that connects students and alumni, and a member of the Order of the May and the Andrew Carnegie Society.
Alex received a bachelor’s degree in economics and a master’s degree in arts management from CMU. He is currently the co-founding managing director and executive vice president at Bedford Management Partners, a boutique private capital and advanced energy integration firm. His previous roles in the energy and private equity sector include president and CEO of HiUp Enterprises North America, analyst and investor relations associate at Blue Tip Energy, and advisor and director of special projects/government relations for the Energy Innovation Center Institute.
Alex is also an independent producer in the entertainment industry. His credits include the Broadway debut production of “Grace,” the Starz original unscripted series “The Chair” and the YouTube series “Pittsburgh Dad.”
Carnegie Mellon taught all of us to put our hearts in the work. I am humbled to be recognized by CMU for following my heart and doing the work of serving this great institution.
