Devika Yeragudipati Devarakond has had a profound impact as a leader and passionate advocate for inclusion and diversity initiatives involving women in tech. Her dedication and willingness to share her knowledge and real-world experiences have made her a valuable mentor to many aspiring professionals in the security field.

Devika is dedicated to furthering women’s advancement in the tech industry and volunteers her time with the intent of making it more welcoming to historically marginalized communities, receiving recognition as one of Google’s Women Techmakers and McKinsey’s Next Generation Women Leaders.

Devika remains a deeply connected and highly engaged alumna. As a mentor, she commits her time and expertise to help empower other Tartans as they embark upon their chosen career paths. Devika is known for her collaboration as a member of the Information Networking Institute’s Alumni Leadership Council, on which she has served since January 2020, and was recently selected to chair the council for the 2023-2025 term. She volunteers for virtual meetings, panel discussions and participates on “Meet the ALC” meetings with new students during orientation.

In the past decade, since graduating from Carnegie Mellon’s Information Networking Institute with her master of science specializing in information security technology and management, Devika has built a career as a senior security professional. She currently serves as a security engineer in the Apple Media Services group, where she works with engineers and product owners to understand and reduce security risk and help with secure design, implementation and deployment of products. Her areas of expertise include risk, validation, assurance, threat modeling, penetration testing and security awareness. She previously worked as a senior security architect in the Product Security Team at Bloomberg and a security researcher at Adobe Systems.
