Güner Awarded 2023 CMLH Fellowship in Digital Health Innovation

PhD candidate Hatice Gökçen Güner was recently awarded the 2023 Fellowship in Digital Health Innovation from the Center for Machine Learning and Health (CMLH) at the School of Computer Science. Güner completed her bachelor’s degree in civil engineering at the Izmir Institute of Technology in Turkey.

Advised by Professors Kaushik Dayal (CEE) and Alexandra Ion (SCS/HCII), Güner’s research focuses on optimizing soft material designs to achieve desired mechanical behaviors for applications in soft robots and energy-absorbing prosthetics.

The fellowship offers one-year full support for research projects that advance digital health under themes including patient care and health monitoring, physician engagement and operational improvement, healthcare-associated infections, and improving patient experiences.
