Avhad Awarded Presidential Scholarship from CMAA - Three Rivers Chapter

Snehal Avhad (AECM MS ‘23)  was named the 2023 Presidential Scholarship Award winner from the Construction Management Association of America Three Rivers Chapter. Avhad earned her undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering from At Maharashtra Institute of Technology, Pune, India.

As a master’s student, Avhad’s projects centered around structural engineering, which included the study of connections in hollow structural sections, the use of hollow structural sections in a skywalk design as a part of a cost-effective solution for pedestrian traffic issues at one of the busiest squares of the city.

“As a recent AECM graduate from Carnegie Mellon University, I have gained a solid foundation in construction management,” she says. “I am eager to apply my skills to real-world projects.”

With more than ten years of experience in the construction industry, Avhad has developed a diverse portfolio of projects, a unique combination of civil and structural engineering knowledge, and construction management abilities. She is driven to further her construction and project management career, particularly in state-of-the-art endeavors that promote a sustainable future.
