At the Forge to Field AI Pitch Competition, emerging AI companies from across the nation will pitch their scale-ready sports innovations to a panel of high-profile judges, including entrepreneur and Pittsburgh native Mark Cuban, and Dick’s Sporting Goods Executive Chairman Ed Stack.
The finalists will pitch in a Shark Tank-style competition for a chance to win from the $1.75M AI Forge Prize pool, including up to $1 million in AWS cloud credits.

As a champion of bold ideas and founder-first thinking, he brings sharp insight, direct feedback, and real-world experience to every stage he steps onto.

Ed Stack is the Executive Chairman and Chief Merchant of DICK’S Sporting Goods and the visionary leader who transformed a small family bait-and-tackle shop into the nation’s largest sporting goods retailer. Known for pairing disciplined growth with values-driven leadership, he brings decades of retail expertise and a deep commitment to community impact to every conversation.
Deap Ubhi
Director and Global Head of Solutions Architect for Startups, AWS
Deap is a technology leader focused on helping startups build and scale on AWS. He currently leads technology for AWS Startups, bringing hands-on product and developer experience expertise across the GenAI and developer lifecycle space. Deap co-founded Flip AI where he focused on putting advanced AI tools into the hands of builders. Prior to Flip AI and AWS, Deap served at the U.S. Digital Service, giving him a strong mix of startup, product, and public-sector operational experience. Deap writes and speaks regularly about practical patterns for building agentic AI, model selection, inference economics and developer tooling.

Jeanne Cunicelli, a veteran venture capitalist in the life sciences industry, was named president of UPMC Enterprises in January 2021. As head of the health system’s innovation, venture capital and commercialization division, she leads UPMC’s efforts to develop innovative solutions to some of health care’s most pressing problems. With a focus on translational sciences and digital solutions, UPMC Enterprises provides its portfolio companies and partners with the capital, connections and insights needed to develop successful businesses.
Will Allen
Partner & Co-Founder, MVP
Will is a Partner and Co-Founder at MVP, a Pittsburgh-based venture capital firm partnering in technically differentiated companies at the intersection of AI, intelligent systems, and enterprise infrastructure.
Before launching MVP, Will managed his family office, overseeing a diverse portfolio spanning startups, real estate, private credit, and PE funds. His transition into investing followed a distinguished 12-year NFL career with the Pittsburgh Steelers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, where he served as a team captain and locker room leader.
Deeply committed to serving the community, Will founded the Will Allen Foundation in 2006, which equips students for post-secondary success through STEM education and "power skill" development. He serves on various community and private boards and remains hands-on in mentorship, supporting the Urban Impact Foundation’s 7v7 football team and sharing in their group Bible studies.
