Bio

Abby Noyce co-directs CMU’s Laboratory in Multisensory Neuroscience. She is an Assistant Research Professor in the Neuroscience Institute, with courtesy appointments in Psychology and Biomedical Engineering. Before coming to CMU, she completed a graduate degree in cognitive neuroscience at Brandeis University (2014), and postdoctoral training in psychological and brain sciences at Boston University.

Abby Noyce studies the cognitive shortcuts the human brain takes to perform feats of perception, attention, and memory. She uses EEG and fMRI neuroimaging to understand the brain’s underlying computations. Her research focuses on how we make use of predictability and on the specializations of different sensory modalities.
