Pittsburgh Opportunities
With its diverse neighborhoods, unique culture and deep history, Pittsburgh is an extraordinary place to explore. SLICE offers many ways to experience our great city.
Utilize CMU Arts Pass to visit Pittsburgh museums, or perhaps engage in outdoor adventures through the Pittsburgh Connections program.
Pittsburgh Connections
Pittsburgh Connections engages students in outdoor recreation, environmental stewardship, and cultural awareness throughout Pittsburgh and Western Pennsylvania, with the goals to help students develop and maintain a physically active lifestyle, build leadership skills, and increase their appreciation of the region.
Each weekend through the academic year (excluding breaks and majors events), Pittsburgh Connections sponsors an Outdoor Adventure to one of the many outdoor recreation facilities in the Pittsburgh area. Whitewater rafting, kayaking, biking, hiking, paintball, horseback riding, and skiing are a few of the offerings!
Pittsburgh Connections is coordinated through the Office of Student Leadership, Involvement, and Civic Engagement (SLICE) and is generously funded by the RK Mellon Foundation, the Dozzi family, and Student Affairs. For questions about this program, email us.
