Upcoming Opportunities to Share Feedback on Your Student Experience

Dear Carnegie Mellon Students,

We are pleased to announce upcoming opportunities for you to share your feedback as a CMU student. As we continue to invest in enhancing the CMU experience in which students are supported to learn and thrive, your perspective is critical for informing our strategies and practices. In partnership with the Office of Institutional Research and Analysis, which periodically surveys the student body, we are offering the following opportunities to collect your input.

In early January 2023, students will receive an email invitation to participate in the Carnegie Mellon University Graduate Enrolled Student Survey. The survey will remain open through the end of January, though you are encouraged to use Winter Break to complete it. Your participation will help us capture a snapshot of the holistic CMU master’s and doctoral student experience including belonging, well-being, academics and satisfaction with resources and services.

Later in the spring semester, you will have the opportunity to participate in another survey intended to help identify specific action areas to cultivate more equitable and inclusive systems so that all students can thrive at CMU.

Your individual responses to these surveys will be administered through the Office of Institutional Research and Analysis and will be kept confidential and will only be reported in the aggregate. No information that could identify you or your responses will be reported. We strongly encourage you to share your open and honest feedback in these surveys.

If you have any questions about the university’s assessment plans, please contact Shannon Foster, senior research designer and coordinator of assessment in the Office of Institutional Research and Analysis, at slfoster@cmu.edu.

Thank you in advance for your involvement. Your participation ensures our ability to harness the results to continue fostering an innovative and transformative educational experience for all CMU students.

Sincerely,

Amy Burkert
Vice Provost for Education
