Bio

Thomas Horstkamp graduated from Carnegie Mellon University in 2024 with a Master's degree and a Bachelor's degree in Mathematical Sciences. During his undergraduate study, he gained a deep understanding of mathematics and developed a keen interest in solving applied problems using mathematical modeling. Prior to joining MSCF, he completed an abstract algebra REU at KSU and an applied partial differential equations summer research fellowship at CMU, with the former leading to a publication and the latter developing into his master's thesis. He has developed strong communication and teamwork skills through these experiences and his time as the Treasurer and Vice President of the CMU Filipino Student Association. Thomas joined the MSCF program to improve his financial knowledge and strengthen his programming and data analysis skills. Upon graduation, he intends to pursue a career in quantitative research or strats and modeling.
