María José comes to the MSCF program from the Mexico Central Bank as a financial researcher where she developed advanced statistical models and data-driven techniques to glean insights from vast datasets. Among her accomplishments, she started the implementation of a stress testing framework for Mexican mutual funds and developed a cyber risk index using news articles extracted through web scraping. María José enrolled in the MSCF program because she recognizes the importance of developing new models to address the growing complexity of the financial system, underscored by emergent risks, new data types, and economic dynamics. She excelled in her studies at ITAM, a premier university in Mexico, and will bring her extensive skill set to help companies find optimal solutions through rigorous quantitative analysis. In her free time, she enjoys dancing salsa and reading novels.
