Bio

Mingjie Ni graduated from University of California, San Diego in 2022, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Mathematics and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics. During her undergraduate, Mingjie gained a solid foundation in mathematics and economics, and developed a passion for the application of mathematics into the real world. Applying natural language processing into text analysis, she conducted a data interference project to find classifiable features through massive email contents and develop her own classification model. During her internship at International Alliance Associates, she constructed multivariable logistic regression models and calculated predictability for portfolio analysis, from which she gained more insights and experience in the financial markets and investment management. Mingjie joined the MSCF Program to develop further expertise in machine learning and to learn how to apply her quantitative skillset to the financial markets. Upon graduation, she plans to pursue a career in quantitative research/trading and data science.
